tldr: you do not need to know very much HTML or CSS to use our products.
landing pages offers a ‘kitchen sink’ toolbar featuring a variety of html tools to help you get started in developing your page. fully customizable code options are available. some knowledge of html and css may be required. javascript is allowed. a basic template is there to help you get started on your maedia campaign. focus is a mixture of landing page assets and content including media kits.
maedia offers HTML and CSS training links along with a toolbar and dozens of templates and snippets to choose from with plenty of comments to suggest any potential changes to placeholder text and even changing of colors.
if you wish to learn HTML and CSS, we offer tutorials on getting to know the code.
if you do not wish to learn HTML and CSS, you can use our pre-made templates and replace the placeholder text with your own assets.
- use Ctrl + Shift + C (or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac) to open the DevTools in Inspect Element mode, or toggle Inspect Element mode if the DevTools are already open.
- It is highly recommended to have subscription in order to enjoy the many benefits maedia has to offer with unlimited access to everything including publications. The earlier you subscribe, the more you will save. If you choose to subscribe at a later time or not at all, you can still access our tools and create an unlimited amount of MLPs (maedia news landing pages) with the ability to pay per publication.
-
we recommend you hop on a subscription as you will be able to utilize the unlimited benefits.
however, we understand that a subscription may not be within your budget.
if you do find yourself only publishing one MLP or MPR per month, you may find it more cost-efficient to pay per publication.
-
maedia offers many benefits for those who are on a subscription plan including access to:
- unlimited publications for MLPs and MPRs
- access to template designs
- duplicate your jobs
- download your jobs
- email campaigns
- job reports
- and more
every job that is created is assigned a unique numerical number.
a job number can be changed by refreshing the page any time before you save the job.
job numbers are completely random.
once the job is saved, the job number assigned will become permanent.
there is no way to change a job number once it has been assigned.
-
with or without a subscription plan, you can republish your job at any time without incurring any fees.
-
by default, all published jobs will be indexed in search engines, but the unlisted option will prevent it from showing up in any of our feeds, making it harder for SEO to work efficiently, and you will have to do more work of sharing the link on social media and other places.
if you saved your job as a preview only and shared a link to it, this serves as only a preview, which was meant to only be seen by those with permission, not by search engines, so preview urls can never indexed until they are published.
-
it is highly discouraged to not to unpublish a published job as it is put through an array of seo-building practices including listed in our main feed, rss feed, xml sitemap, and social media channels.
as it is viewed and shared, seo takes effect and search engines will begin to find your content and your campaign has a higher chance of being discovered and earn a higher index ranking.
once you unpublish your job, it will be removed from everywhere, but search engines may still try to find it and discover a 404 error page.
if a 404 error page is detected, it will be removed from search engine index and you will have to start over again to try and get it publicized.
as long as you do not delete the job, it can still be edited and viewed as a preview.
once you are ready, you can publish it again.
-
unlimited assets up to 20 MB each and videos under 1 GB each.
-
maedia provides unlimited storage space with every job at no extra cost.
-
shortlinks are generated by selecting convert to shortlinks which is an option that appears once you begin adding links into any editor or when you upload a design asset and add its shortlink to a MLP.
all shortlinks contain a tracking code that records clicks, device data, and geolocation data, so you can track which links are most clicked and where those clicks are coming from to better help you understand everything about your marketing campaign.
any multimedia asset including websites, images, videos, and documents can be converted into a shortlink.
a shortlink is generated for all assets which you can place in your HTML code for additional insights.
without this shortlink, maedia will not be able to collect data accurately about your visitors.
shortlink counters are reset each time links are converted.
shortlink data is not collected from preview pages.
* you must toggle convert to shortlinks each time you save the page to convert all links within the maedia editor.
the preview link is only meant for sharing of the non-live version of your MLP (maedia news landing page). the URL is not SEO-friendy and search engines will not be able to discover or index it. it is highly advised that you do not share the preview link on any social media channels.
once you publish your MLP, the URL will be SEO-friendly and search engines will be able to discover and index it if you have selected the listed option in the editor.
if you choose unlisted, it will not be indexed in search engines.
once the URL is live, it cannot be changed to ensure better SEO-routing unless the MLP is unpublished, saved, and republished.
-
you can add subscribers to an unlimited amount of lists.
for example, you may have a list for your subscribers who are only interested in halloween, therefore you might create a list just for those subscribers.
upon the publication of your MLP or MPR, you may share with them.
you can add them manually or have anyone sign up for a specific list.
to create a specific list for your subscribers, simply add &list=mylist to the end of the subscription link.
-
notes allow you to add infomration for your eyes only that is not visible to the public nor can they
be shared.
they are meant to help you keep yourself as informed as possible.
-
an editorial calendar is a calendar displaying your publications and events for your company.
it often reveals upcoming events and news that others can look forward to seeing.
if you have chosen the listed option, they will be displayed on your public editoral calendar.
you may also add events manually and choose whether they are listed or unlisted.
if an event is unlisted, only you will be able to see it.
-
a newsroom may serve multiple purposes on maedia including portfolio display and access distribution of content to journalists and influencers.
a newsroom contains an abunance of information about your company including logos, branding information, news, awards, partnerships, media kits, and contact information.
distributed by cision and research conducted by isebox, most newsrooms lack the desired information that journalists are seeking that help them to do their jobs more efficiently.
the newsroom we generate for you is SEO-friendly and designed to help you not only get discovered by the web, but also to help journalists get in touch with you and provide you with the tools to put forth the most straightforward information possible.
all newsrooms contain any MLPs and MPRs that you have listed publicly and contain the following options:
- Copy Link: copies the URL to the clipboard
- Copy Text: copies the press release text without code to the clipboard
- Download: generates a media kit containing all assets and a PDF version of the page and press release
- Read: navigates to the page
- Share: provides sharing options to share the page to social media
note: only one newsroom is available per account.
-
maedia does NOT own the intellectual property rights to your content and provides only the platform to host your content meaning you may download and/or remove your content at any time from the maedia platform and we cannot delete it unless it violates the DCMA or other legal issues. however, we may remove it from the maedia stream should it contain unacceptable material. by default, you grant permission to allow maedia and others to repost your content elsewhere though it is highly recommended to require an attribution or canonical link back to the MLP to avoid duplicate content or penalties.
should you share an MLP project of yours to the maedia template stream (not the maedia stream), it becomes public property and therefore the intellectual property rights of maedia.
denoted in the footer, there are three types of Creative Commons licenses used on maedia:
- Creative Commons, Public Domain (PD), work may be republished without permission or attribution.
- Creative Commons, Attribution (BY), work may be republished with attribution but with or without permission.
-
Creative Commons, NoDerivatives (ND), work may not be republished without permission and/or attribution.
* these do not apply to sharing content on social media.
there is also the option to NOT display any Creative Commons criteria which defaults to the Creative Commons Public Domain.
-
if you have a subscription, you can download all of your files en masse at any time.
if you do not have a subscription, you will still be able to download them individually.
-
on the main landing page screen, there is an option to clone your job with all assets.
-
every time you receive a visitor to your MLP or MPR, maedia collects data about the visit. a campaign categorizes this data from a start date to an end date to help you understand specific date ranges of traffic.
-
maedia provides multiple measures to help with SEO including offering meta title, meta description, meta summary, along with social summaries, and featured image.
maedia also encourages your urls and filenames are SEO-friendly by not allowing spaces or any unwanted characters.
maedia sets character limits in accordance to the best SEO practices with the meta headline at a 70-character limit and meta description at a 160-character limit.
maedia makes an effort to follow best practices when it comes to HTML5 and CSS3 standards.
maedia generates a stream of content, xml sitemap, and rss feed along with many opportunities for others to share content on social media and their own websites with your newsroom.
finally, maedia analyzes your content and provides a personalized score based on multiple factors throughout your page.
once you publish your MLP (maedia news landing page), we add the proper meta data and push your content to our news stream, sitemap, and rss feed, where it is discovered by search engines, shared by our fans and following, and possibly by yours.
-

- maedia will NOT moderate unlisted content, but once it is in the maedia stream, you have granted us permission to advertise and promote and share with our networks, in addition to moderating and filtering out unwanted, useless, and unnecessary content. In order to keep our content interesting and unique, we do not allow empty or spammy material filled with affiliate links beyond reason that would otherwise turn off potential visitors. Therefore, we do reserve the right to moderate this type of content as we deem fit. We will not delete it, but it will be unlisted and you will receive an email for the reasons for our decision. Considering the publication process is not moderated, we do allow our readers to submit feedback on your content and proceed accordingly. -
maedia will detect the video format and will encode the video to the highest quality format it can making it available on our CDN throughout the world for the fastest streaming possible.
videos on the stream cannot be made private or password-protected.
here is a sample of an encoded video on the video stream:
-
after a video is uploaded, depending on the size and its quality, it is analyzed for all possible formats and encoded to the highest quality, which may take a few minutes for the process to complete.
by clicking into the video asset, you can tell how far along your video has been encoded along with other details about the video.
if your video appears to be stuck at any percentage during the encoding process, try refreshing the page.
although we provide analytics tracking data for you, you may add nearly any type of analytics code you wish to your MLP (maedia news landing page) using the custom header section.
however, it is not possible to add your own tracking data to a MPR on maedia, though we track the data for you.

absolutely, on the landing page dashboard, every job has the option to generate a pdf or from the preview itself.
note: an image placeholder that is generated via code such as placeholder.com will not display images.
-
if you are not on a subscription, you will automatically see "maedia" as a watermark on every pdf.
if you are on a subscription plan, you can remove the watermark or add your own.
-
once your job is published and you begin receiving visitors, your job begins collecting data.
a job report is an in-depth analysis of data regarding the job you've created.

- read rank: based on Flesch–Kincaid readability tests
- seo score
- algorithm based on html and page content
-
we retrieve data from our CDN service which logs every visit along with geolocation information.
you may be wondering if you really got 2,000 pageviews on your site in one day and while the number is not technically wrong, it may not be human or bot that hit your page, meaning our CDN service may replicate your data across hundreds of servers around the world so it can be retrieved faster.
with our cdn service running scripts, bots from google or bing indexing your website, and the distribution across the maedia network, along with other services that may ping or trackback your MLP or MPR, you may receive hundreds of visits or pageviews from real-life people and bots or scripts that may not register as human or bot.
while we do try to filter out between the three, our cdn service will log every page download as a visit.
-
you can export your job reports as a csv file.
-
once a job is published, the data collection begins and you can learn many things about who is visiting your MLP including pageviews, visits, country, referrers, video views, and devices.
analytics are located on the landing dashboard pages.
-
some browsers may show this prompt, others may not, but it is technically asking if the reader is ready to leave the page which is recorded for analytical purposes.
-
a generated contact form on a page cannot be viewed in preview, but once published is visible for all to see.
a default style that works on most websites with a light background was chosen as the standard, but can be stylized by adding
.form { }
to the cutom css.
-
on the landing pages screen, select email subscribers, choose the list you wish to email, and your subscribers will be notified with a link to the job.
by default, an HTML template of your MLP or MPR will be sent.
if you select the option to send it as a media kit, then a zip file containing all the assets will be sent.
-
teams allow you to add anyone to your account to create and manage jobs.
once you add someone to your team, you will have the option to message and request work from them.
once added to your team, you will need to list which job numbers they may access.
to remove access to a job, remove the job number from their list.
it is advised that you both have an agreement for work performed and ensure that they fully complete the work before you make payment.
advisory: we will do our best to mediate, but this platform is mostly self-service.
-
team privileges allows you to restrict or grant access to parts of your account.
by default, adding someone as a team member only acknowledges they are part of the team.
if you choose to give them access to parts of your account, such as newsrooms, subscribers, and teams, they will be able to see these areas under a section called my teams in the teams tab where they are listed in the category you have assigned them.
you must choose which job numbers they may access and which privileges they have to perform certain tasks.
once your team member is assigned job numbers, they will appear on their respective dashboard page and are restricted to the privileges that you have set for them.
if you give your team member job access without any privelages, they will only be to view the job in their dashboard.
note: team members cannot create new jobs but may clone existing ones.
-
here are the stages of available-for-hire to job completed:
- a request must be submitted in order for the hiree to access the job.
- the time the hiree spends within the job is logged and multiplied by their rate.
- once they message you that they are completed with the work, you will mark the job as complete.
- once the job is complete, payment will be deducted from your credit card on file.
- this money will be held in mediation for 7 days.
- after 7 days has passed, the job is marked as completed and the hiree will be paid.
- after a job is marked as completed, you may leave a review, and the hiree may also leave a review.
note: in order to maintain the hiring platform, there are fees associated with hiring and accepting work.
- subscriptions: 5% fee
- non-subscriptions: 10% fee
how fees work:
like teams, you may grant certain privelages to hirees for jobs, but they will not have any access to the editorial calendar, newsroom, subscriptions, or teams.
warning: it is highly ill-advised to perform transactions outside of the maedia platform.
if our software detects abuse of our hiring platform, your account may be blacklisted from hiring or being hired.
